Enameling

This semester I am taking the Enameling class. Enameling is not as easy as I thought, but I enjoy it very much. There are many different techniques and surface finishes. We didn't get try try them all this semester, but hopefully one day...

So, this is my wall piece, inspired by the picture of the old stained glass window, that I took. Also, as you can see, it shows the Victorian Era influence.

*The flower is made out of 28 gauge copper, with the hammered and stamped texture, covered with several coats of the transparent enamel.
*The middle of the flower is also made out of 28 gauge copper, textured, domed, covered with the transparent enamel, and then the design is added on top with the opaque enamel.
*The leaves are made out of 18 gauge copper, covered with the opaque enamel.
*Wooden base is painted black.

And this is how it looks on the wall)
